B2 ESL Lesson Plan: Signs of a Highly Sensitive Person

Lesson Summary

This engaging B2–C1 ESL lesson plan explores sensitivity and highly sensitive people through a psychology video and a follow-up article. Students examine high sensitivity as a personality trait and consider its possible strengths, challenges and effects on everyday life.

Learning Objectives

Students expand their vocabulary related to emotions, personality traits and self-care while developing viewing, listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. They also practise critical thinking by evaluating social attitudes towards sensitivity and reflecting on how highly sensitive people can thrive.

Lesson Activities

Students discuss sensitivity, make predictions, watch and analyse a short video, answer comprehension questions and practise new vocabulary. They take part in a roleplay about workplace adjustments, read an article on the strengths of highly sensitive people and complete discussion, writing and multimodal tasks.
