Film English Wins MEDEA Award

The aim of the MEDEA Awards is to encourage innovation and good practice in the use of media (audio, video, graphics and animation) in education.
They also recognizes and promotes excellence in the production and pedagogical design  of media-rich learning resources.

The winners were announced during the MEDEA Awards Ceremony which took place as part of the  Media and Learning Conference  in the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training headquarters in Brussels. This year the competition attracted a record breaking 342 entries from 37 countries.

I’m particularly happy to win this award as the pedagogical vision of the awards – that it is only when video and audio are routine components of education and online learning, that we will have an educational environment that reflects the media-rich world in which our learners now live resonates with that of Film English.

My colleagues at UAB Idiomes Barcelona presented me with this beautiful poster designed by the mega-talented Fernando Moresi for winning the award.

    I teach english to adults in France. Many of my students love films and I do too. I always ask them what they hope to learn, what they hope to gain from my lessons and a recurring response is to be able to watch & understand films in English. Your lessons do exactly that and I often use them. Thank you so much for the work and time you put into this and for sharing it. You deserve this award.
